Members of American Jews for a Just Peace (AJJP) are involved in many projects that are focused on achieving a just peace in Israel/Palestine. In most of these, we work closely with other activists, both in the U.S. and abroad. In this section, you will find out more about these projects. As we develop our organization, these pages will expand. So please check back often.
The Health and Human Rights Project (HaHRP) a subcommittee of American Jews for a Just Peace, was first started in 2003 to organize delegations to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Working with Physicians for Human Rights Israel, the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, and other NGOs, delegates have the opportunity to work in medical settings and to interview Jewish Israeli activists and Palestinian activists from a variety of civil society organizations. Delegates then return to their home communities with added knowledge and credibility and a commitment to share their experiences with US and Canadian audiences.
The Boston Chapter is a founding chapter of AJJP. The Boston chapter is the home of AJJP's Health and Human Rights Project through which we sponsor human rights delegations each year to Palestine and Israel.
Philadelphia Jews for a Just Peace is a founding chapter of AJJP. We are a non-hierarchical team of activists led by a committee of dedicated individuals. The PJJP Steering Committee meets at least once each month to discuss upcoming programs, policies, and to keep building the movement in the region.
